Mission

We believe a high quality educational experience, in which the academic, physical, social, and emotional needs of students are met, is key to creating lifelong learners and productive members of society. The staff of McKinley Middle School is committed to ensuring that all students, as they work towards positive and rewarding goals, will be provided the necessary supports to succeed in this rigorous STEM focused learning environment.

Vision

McKinley Middle School fosters an orderly, caring, and intellectually stimulating environment where scholars are prepared to enter the ninth grade understanding that discipline, high expectations, intellectual curiosity, self-advocacy, empathy, and leadership are pillars of success and advancement.

 

GATOR GUIDELINES (Core Values)

MMS helps students develop skills and habits they need to succeed in their lives, education and careers. Our GATOR Guidelines are part of our positive behavior intervention system (PBIS) and are the expectations of every Navi-gator. The GATOR Guidelines serve as standards of success for our students.  Navi-gators are rewarded for exhibiting the guidelines in all settings.

G - GREAT GRADES

  • Academics are crucial to the success of MMS students.

  • Students must always focus on completing class work, homework, work collaboratively on group projects, and trying to do their best in all academic areas.

A - AWESOME ATTITUDE

  • Students must display a positive attitude in all settings, including interactions with peers, teachers, administration, and all other staff members at all times.

  • Awesome attitude includes behavior in classrooms, hallways, lunch, before and after school.

  • Students must show enthusiasm for learning and contribute to a positive learning environment.

T - TEAMWORK

  • Students must be willing to work together collaboratively.

  • Students must treat all peers, group members, and team members with respect.

O – ORGANIZED AND ON-TIME

  • Students must be organized in their uniform, with materials and all other belongings.

  • Students must be orderly in classrooms, hallways, and transitions.

  • Students must be on time for all classes and activities (see Late Policy).

R – RESPECT AND RESPONSIBILITY

  • Students must treat ALL individuals, including peers, teachers, administration, and staff, with respect.

  • Students must take responsibility for their behavior and learning.
